The numbers don’t lie. While sales are starting slower than we’d like for spring, the prices are going up and buyers are looking right now in this price range. With the difficulty of finding waterfront lots, and the demand for central locations, the acquisition costs associated with these homes will continue to rise dramatically. The costs of building supplies will likely continue to rise as well, meaning today’s price per square foot will look as good in 5 years as $233 psf looks today! In fact, that is an increase from 2004 to today of 35%.
With the baby boomer retirement demographic and the fact each home built takes away another buildable lot, the next 5 years appear to be the best we have seen in this area yet!
